If I were a Sagittarius
This work is part of the Stardust Journey series, which explores identity, memory, and self-discovery through digital collage and mixed media.
Inspired by Sagittarius, the artwork reflects the longing to explore beyond the familiar and the desire to keep expanding one’s inner and outer world. At the center of the composition, a striking horse’s head is naturally joined with two faces carrying different expressions, all connected by stitches as parts of a larger whole. Rather than representing separate identities, these figures suggest different ways of experiencing freedom, curiosity, and discovery within a single self.
The side-facing figure in the foreground is covered in a light blue starry sky, evoking a vast inner universe and an openness to distant possibilities. Behind her, a second figure emerges with a bright smile. Her head is filled with the shape of a maze-like garden, while her arms are covered with maps and three figures gazing through a telescope. Together, these elements suggest movement, imagination, and a desire to understand what lies beyond the horizon. The imagery reflects a spirit that is drawn toward exploration not only in the outer world, but also within the landscapes of thought, hope, and becoming.
Set against orange linen fabric and nebulae glowing with orange-yellow and blue light, the composition unfolds within a vibrant dreamlike landscape full of energy and momentum. Within this space, exploration becomes more than a journey outward—it becomes a way of growing, searching, and imagining more expansive ways of being. The artwork invites viewers to reflect on what they are truly seeking when they feel drawn toward distant places, new experiences, and unknown paths.
Stardust Journey | 星辰之旅
Stardust Journey is a series of digital collage artworks about identity, memory, and personal growth. Inspired by the symbolism of the zodiac, each piece explores the emotions, contradictions, and experiences that shape who we become.
By combining childhood photographs, familiar objects, and imagined cosmic landscapes, the series creates visual stories that feel both personal and universal. The stitched elements and layered textures symbolize repair, transformation, and the ongoing process of understanding ourselves.
Whether collected for its visual beauty or personal resonance, each artwork offers a quiet space for reflection and self-discovery.
