If I Were a Libra
This work is part of the Stardust Journey series, which explores identity, memory, and self-discovery through digital collage and mixed media.
Inspired by Libra, the artwork reflects the balance between staying true to oneself and seeking acceptance from others. A swan moves gracefully through the composition, symbolizing beauty, harmony, and the desire for connection. Nearby, an amusement park pirate ship swings between opposing directions, suggesting moments of hesitation and the challenge of choosing between different paths.
At the center of the work, a small face rests upon a scale and is connected by stitches to the larger face behind it. Together, they represent an ongoing dialogue between self-perception and social identity—the relationship between who we are and how we wish to be seen by others. The stitched forms suggest that authenticity and belonging are not opposing forces, but parts of a continuous process of negotiation and self-understanding.
Stained-glass windows appear throughout the composition, reflecting both sensitivity and a search for beauty in the world. Surrounded by pale blue linen fabric and pink-purple nebulae, the work unfolds within a dreamlike space between self-expression and connection.
